The programme organizes meetings between visitors from Official Development Assistance (ODA)-recipient countries with a direct understanding of global challenges and individual Cambridge researchers, allowing focussed discussions about addressing such challenges.

The programme led by Cambridge Global Challenges has had a key role in the strategy that our University is establishing to tackle regional development and environmental issues such as drought periods, heavy rains, soil, coastal erosion and cyclones and it was already led to the design of a joint project with colleagues at Cambridge on microbial and electrochemical energy production systems.” 

João Salavessa, leading an institutional project at Universidade Lúrio planned with the government of Mozambique, to reduce poverty in the north of the country through relevant training in Agriculture, Engineering and Applied Sciences.
