2017/18 Evelyn Trust Grants Medical Research Grants (deadline: 30th November 2017)

The Trust seeks to support medical research projects in Cambridgeshire, usually in the range of £10,000 up to a maximum of £250,000. Grants must benefit charitable or non-profit making organisations, not individuals.

Evelyn TrustThe Trust considers that one of it primary goals is to develop young or newly-established researchers, and to help them to generate data for more substantial bids to larger grant-giving bodies. We are especially interested in projects with a clear clinical impact, or that can deliver transformational change or increase inter-disciplinary working.

The Evelyn Trust awards medical grants for:
  • Clinical research projects - towards the cost of specific, planned and well managed medical research programmes. The Evelyn Trust particularly favours younger or less established researchers and pilot or demonstration projects that have yet to meet the proof of principle required by larger funding bodies.
  • Capital projects - towards the cost of new buildings or extensions or for the renovation of existing buildings, as well as contributions towards the cost of new capital equipment required for a specific purpose.
  • Research Training Fellowships - The Evelyn Trust supports the Cambridge Research Training Fellowship programme and there is a separate application process for this. Please visit this page and follow the guidance there. Applications are usually invited for these awards in the first quarter of each year.

The Trust supports projects usually in the range of £10,000 up to a maximum of £250,000. Grants must be significant in the context of the project and are ‘one-off’ for that particular project. There is no recurrent award to support the ongoing costs of a project.
