ESRC Impact Acceleration Account funding (deadline: 5th February 2018)

The Economic and Social Research Council Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) aims to increase the application of social science research from the University. The IAA Impact Fund provides flexible funding for impact projects in social science disciplines, while the IAA Follow-on Fund supports projects (with continuing impact) that have previously received IAA funding.

ESRC

The Impact Fund seeks to help establish a sustainable support structure within the University to promote wider and more effective engagement with external organisations that will enhance impact. Awards will be made available to fund work which will significantly increase the probability of the ideas and findings generated by the research having an impact on the private, public and third sectors. The Follow-on Fund is intended to continue supporting the Impact Fund projects that are successful.

The awards are not intended to support the continuation of research, and as a result, applications should focus on the development of impact activities and outputs and not on research activities. In addition to this, postgraduate students are not eligible to apply.

From the Impact Fund, £10,000 to £20,000 is available for each project, and these should be completed within 12 months of the award of the grant, though most projects are shorter. The Follow-on Fund can provide a further £5000.
