WT Investigator Awards in Humanities and Social Science (preliminary deadline: 4th July 2018; full application deadline: 18th Sept 2018)

Investigator Awards enable humanities and social science researchers with a compelling research vision to tackle the most significant questions in human health.

Objective

The purpose of the Wellcome Trust  Investigator Award is to support leading researchers to follow a compelling long-term vision for their research. The reviewers are looking for a compelling research vision that:

  • new Wellcome Trust logois both ambitious and feasible
  • transforms an area of humanities and social science related to human health
  • builds on the area of research of the applicant.

Eligibility

Early career and established researchers under contract to a research organisation in the UK, Ireland or a low-or-middle-income country.

Level of funding

From £250,000 to £1 million, for 3 to 5 years

Special Conditions

The application must be accompanied by a supporting letter from the applicant's host organisation. It should come from the most senior authority in the relevant faculty, school or division.
