Cambridge Global Challenges advances the contribution of University of Cambridge's research in addressing challenges faced by communities in Official Development Assistance-target countries by facilitating the following four steps (further details below):

1) Understand challenges faced by the poorest half of the world's population

Cambridge Global Challenges facilitates the understanding of challenges faced by the poorest half of the world’s population – namely by offering training in methodologies of co-creation that are required for the adequete consideration of these challenges in academic research projects that propose to address them.

2) Jointly define research questions addressing challenges in ODA-target countries

Cambridge Global Challenges facilitates the dialogue and co-creation between Cambridge researchers and researchers, implementers and end-users in the developing world, for the joint definition of research priorities and collaboration opportunities. We deliver the four programmes described below.

3) Obtain funding to enact jointly defined research priorities

Cambridge Global Challenges supports interdisciplinary research that combines existing expertise hubs across the University of Cambridge by facilitating the response to relevant funding calls.

Cambridge Global Challenges defines impact chain protocols – R&D diffusion mechanisms and implementation solutions – in developing world contexts.

Support with research proposal design, preparation of large bids, grant management, due diligence and overseas working policy for ODA-remit work by University of Cambridge researchers.
