Dr Robert Doubleday is the Executive Director of the Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP) and a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Geography.
Robert’s research focuses on the role of science, evidence and expertise in contemporary societies, in particular the relationship between scientific advice, public policy and democracy. Two examples of his interest in this sphere include his work on policies to promote engagement between academia and governance to the Government Office for Science and a Wellcome Trust- funded project that studied the policy and public dimensions of nanotechnologies.
Robert’s commitment to developing collaborative methods of working with scientists and engineers on the public policy dimensions of their research can impact the lives of the world’s poorest 3 billion people.
