The aim of this workshop is to ensure that participants are familiar with basic gender concepts, including gender equality, and are aware of internationally recognised gender equality rights and policies.

The aims of this workshop are:

  • To ensure that participants are familiar with basic gender concepts, including gender equality, and are aware of internationally recognised gender equality rights and policies;
  • To review the concept of gender, drawing on participants’ experiences;
  • Ensure that participants understand that women and men have different activities and responsibilities regarding natural resources;
  • Ensure that participants understand how gender differences, and gender equality, relate to the use and management of natural resources by women and men and their involvement in conservation;
  • Raise awareness of how gender-specific measures can increase the effectiveness and impact of conservation projects; and
  • How a lack of gender equality can negatively affect sustainability.

Lunch will be included during the workshop
