International Development Research @ Cambridge

The British Council, under the Researcher Links scheme, via the Newton Fund invites applications for its strategy and policy innovation in supply chain management under environmental pressure workshop.

This enables early-career researchers to attend a workshop on exploring the problem of green operation management and help supply chain enterprises develop more effective environmental policies

The workshop is jointly led by the University of Plymouth and the University of Tianjin. The workshop will take place in Tianjin, China, from 27 to 29 October 2018. The mains objectives are to:

  • understand the sources and characteristics of pollution and energy consumption in supply chain operations;
  • review the implementation of advanced environmental strategies and policies in the supply chain, and the impact these have on enterprise decision-making;
  • identify schemes which apply green innovation to supply chain operations, and tap the innovation direction of both government and enterprise environmental policies;
  • improve the research skills and develop collaboration in the long-term between ECRs in China and the UK.

Early-career researchers from the UK who received their PhD less than 10 years ago, and who are affiliated with a UK or Turkish HEI or research institution, may apply.

Level of funding

Funding covers all costs related to the workshop, including travel, accommodation and meals.

For further details on how to apply please see the workshop announcement.
