International Development Research @ Cambridge

 

The Isaac Newton Trust (INT) funds projects and procurement for researchers at the University of Cambridge.

The Isaac Newton Trust invites applications for the following types of grant:

  • Emergency Grants - bridging for salary costs / short underwriting / start-up grants
  • Project Grants - initial partner funding for new research projects; plus grants for unconventional, innovative forms of research & scholarship
  • Strategic Research Programmes and Projects - larger, institutional, perhaps interdisciplinary, programmes of strategic value to the University for the promotion of education or research;
  • Equipment grants - exceptional requests for a key research item, on a partner funding basis with other University institutions, or unavoidable costs associated with use of shared equipment; small equipment needs can be dealt with as part of the other categories.

Application procedure

Applicants need to submit an electronic draft via the Head of their institution.

Additional information

Emergency, Project and Equipment Grants: there are three rounds per year.

Strategic Research Programme & Project Grants: there is one round per year  (Michaelmas); selected applications will then be asked to submit a full application in Lent Term.
