Efforts to tackle the challenge of ensuring all people have access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food at all times are continually advancing. Central to increasing global food security is understanding how food crises can be driven by factors such as the environment, demographics, the economy and political structures. Research in such areas could provide knowledge of how the food-system could be re-designed to meet dietary requirements for a healthy lifestyle whilst being sustainable and more resilient to climate change.
