The Towards a Sustainable Earth funding partners invite proposals to first call under the initiative, which aims to significantly improve our understanding of the complex interactions between people and the environment required to make progress in achieving the United Nations Global Goals (Sustainable Development Goals).
This is a call for collaborative research proposals on the theme of Human-Environment Interactions and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This call is a collaboration between the following international agencies:
- UK Research and Innovation councils the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), the Economic & Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC)
- Japan Science & Technology Agency
- National Natural Science Foundation of China
- Department of Biotechnology, India
- Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development, Formas
Objective
The call aims to significantly improve our understanding of the complex interactions between people and the environment required to make progress in achieving the United Nations Global Goals (Sustainable Development Goals).
Applicants are invited to submit multilateral collaborative research proposals comprising eligible researchers from a minimum of three nations represented by the funding agencies.
Level of Funding
Projects should be no more than £700,000 in total, with specific funding limits for each national component given in the relevant national annex, and a maximum duration of two years.
